Live scan is the process in which your finger prints are transmitted to either the FBI or DOJ electronically. Once received, that agency will conduct a criminal background investigation, compare and verify your identity based on the prints, and then report their findings back to the requesting agency or company.

The process of obtaining your prints will take about 15 minutes. Once your prints have been obtained and transmitted, it will take approx. 3 to 4 weeks before the requesting agency or company receives information from the FBI / DOJ on the results of your background check.
